In your face!
Today I start the 41st year of my marriage. SO--- Up YOURS to all the parents, teachers, councelors and "religious" people who told us we were being stupid and it would never work. By the way, that baby that you said we should at best give up for adoption and worst just "get rid of" is a doctor and biomedical engineer and well on her way to becoming one of the preeminent spinal surgeons in the land.

I have to comment again, Mike, hope you don't mind.
While I was at work today, I thought alot about your blog entry. It made me think about how many times in my life people thought they could make the "better" decision for me. Many times I buckled under. The best thing I've ever done for myself is grow a backbone and learn to say, according to Billy Joel "I don't care what you say anymore, this is MY LIFE".
Again I congratulate you on making the decisions that were right for you, your wife and your family. As far as I know, we only live once and by God, we should do it on our own terms.
I appreaciate the comments. I can't say we haven't made some bad decisions but we stuck it out. Made us stronger.

You and Mrs. Mike made the right decision. My sister went through the same scenario and she made the right decision also. Her son is a CPA and has two girls and a great wife.
