Yes this post is really by me, the brass loving, Sousa worshipping, drum corp nut.
Yesterday on PBS I watched a concert taped at Radio City Music Hall. The orchestra was lead by Andre Rieu, a Dutch (I believe) violinist. That man can really work an audience. His guest artists were the Harlem Gospel Choir.
Even with the pledge breaks I really enjoyed that show.
I understand he is coming to Chicago next April. Seats are not cheap, $125.00 for main floor, but I am seriously thinking of going.

I saw that on the WOW listings. I should catch it. In the right hands, the violin can be the most soulful instrument. It weeps. It laughs.
The french horn sings. Hey, I'm a brass player too. :-)
My niece plays and teaches violin.
She paid $6,000.00 for a frikin BOW!
A bow strung with the horsehairs of Seabiscuit no doubt! heh!
