For all you DCA backers.
If your son wrestled for his high school would you let him wrestle with the WWE? If your teenage daughter rode horses would you let her ride in the Preakness? Would you want them to be exposed to the lifestyles, habits and schedule of adults? Then how can you advocate "all age drum corps"?
It seems the only way DCA can survive is to rob the cradle. Why? Because for most people, drum corps is an activity of youth and young adulthood. Most people move on with their lives. True, some remain with the activity for many years but even those people eventually cannot maintain the pace required for a good competitive drum corp. If you want to be in DCA, fine, but return to a minimum age of 21. If DCA can't cut it with that restriction, let it die.
