Trucks & Trains

Is it just me or have Semi's taken over the roads? Here in Wisconsin they seem to think no one else is driving. Illinois, Indiana and many other states have lane restrictions on big rigs. ie on a three lane road, trucks are limitied to the right two lanes. In Wisconsin they can run side by side filling all lanes and slowing down the traffic flow. It's high time the DMV puts limits on truck lanes and ENFORCES them. Which brings up another point. You cannot try to tell me it is more effiecient to run hundreds of trucks down the road than it is to run a long freight train. It's time to use the rails rather than the concrete.
There is a big push right now to run a light passenger rail line from Milwaukee to Chicago, perhaps extending the Metra line up from Kenosha.
Just how short is the memory in this country anyway? Up until Jan of 1963 we were part of one of the best and fastest commuter lines anywhere, anytime, The North Shore. It was allowed to die because people would rather drive cars. Now some brainless idiots want to recreate what we once had. How many billions will that cost? How long will it survive? No one seems to want those answers.

The jog from IL to IN on 294-94-80(where they all come together, that may be the problem!) is HORRIBLE everyday with semi traffic. Lane restrictions or not. I think the trucks outnumber the cars.
