This afternoon I attended a MSO concert of Gershwin music. It brought home the point that there are a lot of people out there who think they are much better than they really are. When you listen to a man like Kevin Cole play the piano solos to Rhapsody in Blue you see first hand the difference between professional musicians and the "weekend warrior" types. When the MSO broke into "Strike up the Band" I immediatly reminised on how well the old junior Kilties played that piece. I shook my head thinking of how lame the "all age" version was.
Nuff said.

I played SUTB with the bozos in 2002. I didn't think it was a bad arrangement, I thought it was a BAD hornline playing it. I think Georgeson does some awesome stuff but you need the horses to pull it off.
I bet the Madison Scouts will do his arrangements vastly more justice than the bozos ever did.
