Kudos to the Packers

They are 3-0 and next week start inter-division games against Minnisota.

But last week they showed real class. Brett Farve tied Dan Marino's all time touchdown pass record of 420. The Pack was knocking on the door again on the one yard line. It would have been an easy dink pass to break the record but the Pack ran it in. Brett will break the record (probably next week-sorry Annie) and he will do it with a pass worthy of him and the last great Packer QB Bart Starr.

Re-enactors

It seems you can't go to a festival anymore without finding re-enactors, mostly Civil War and Revolutionary War units. I have nothing against the concept of re-enactors. I love history. BUT.
Since when did General Washington drive around in an electric scooter?
Since when did the Colonial soldier have an I-Pod?
Since when is it alright to treat the public like they were intruders in your private party?

If you want to play soldier then research a character, get in that character and stay that way while you are in the public eye.
Don't say it can't be done, I've seen it and witnessed it first hand.

Like many other pursuits, it's all about commitment or lack there of.

Favorite season

Forget spring, it's cold and wet. Forget summer, it's hot and humid. Winter goes without saying. But fall, the weather is cool, air is crisp, colors are wonderful. It's my favorite season. Going to hit a lot of Rails-to-Trails bike trails in the next two months. Hope to get to Elroy-Sparta, Sugar River and Wild Goose at least. I think it's the best way to see the fall colors.

A fond fairwell

to the passing of "my pictures" blog. While some may rejoice at it's removal, others will miss it. So to those now rejoicing, you have won nothing. Others have mearly moved on with their lives. They have out grown your meager activity.

Spinmeister JC

I believe that's what you call it when you try to turn shit into caviar.

Shit or get off the pot.

Ok guys and gals, you got your collective asses handed to you in Rochester. Even usually politically correct posters on DCP are talking openly about your flaws. Before another lackluster season is contemplated you better sit down and make some hard choices. Do you want to be an Alumni corp fostering a Junior? (Your first mission statement) or would you like to be a bunch of midlife crisis weekend warriors,( do nothing), or would you like to be competitive? If so, dump everyone who cannot or will not commit to serious rehearsal and physical conditioning, drop down to class A if needed. Believe me, the spectators would rather see and hear 15 good horns than 30 half asses ones. Same goes for percussion and guard. Perhaps nowhere else than guard, physical attributes are most important. Who wants to see 250 pounders attemping to prance around in leotards. Talk about an appetite killer.
